JEE Main 2017 Syllabus, Exam Pattern

jEE Main Exam Pattern : JEE Main is one of the most distinguished Engineering Entrance Examination commenced by the Central board of Education ( CBSE ). candidates after clearing this examination, takes a step forward to avail admission in renowned engineering institutes of the nation. How ever, the JEE Main Exam is not a child's play. the candidates need to prepare thoroughly for the examination, the crack this examination, the candidates should have a full fledged knowledge about the syllabus and the exam pattern of JEE Main 2017. JEE Main Exam Pattern 2017

The JEE Main 2017 Exam Pattern will aid the candidates to get a notion about the making scheme, type of questions, medium of question paper, time limitation and more. Once the candidates develop an insight about the Exam Pattern of JEE Main 2017, they will be able to prepare accordingly. The JEE Main 2017 Exam Pattern is given below so that the candidates can gain complete information and ensure that they don't hider Preparation. 

JEE Main 2017 Exam Pattern - Paper 1  ( B.E / B. Tech )

Mode of Examination : The paper will be conducted in two separate modes. One is the offline mode ( pen and paper based Examination ) and the other is the Online mode ( Computer based Examination ). The candidates have to opt for either the two modes during the time of registration.

Subjects and type of  questions : The subject  combination is Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. There will be 30 objective type questions with equal weightage to each subject.

Time Limit : For the both offline and online mode of Examination, the candidates will be given a duration of 3 hours to complete the paper. The exam will start in the morning 9:30 to 12:30. However, in the online mode, a second shift might be allotted to the students which will start from 2pm -5pm, if required. However, candidates with 40% or more disability will be given one hour extra time to finish the paper. 

Language : The question paper of will be available in Hindi and English medium. The Examination centres in Gujarat, Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli will be given the language choice of Gujarat as well along with Hindi and English mediums. However, candidates should note they have to choose the medium of language while filling up the application form. It cannot be changed later. 

Making scheme : Out of the four given response in each question, there is only one correct response. The correct answer will be allotted 4 marks and 1 mark will be deducted tor indicating wrong answers of each question. Check the details below.

JEE Main 2017 Exam Pattern - Paper 2 ( B. Arch./B.Planning ) : 

Mode of Examination : Paper 2 question Paper will be available Only offline mode. 

Subjects and type of questions : The subject combination is Mathematics part 1 Aptitude test Part 2 and Drawing test Part 3. The Mathematics and Aptitude section will contain 30 objective type questions where as the Drawing section will contain 7 questions out of which candidates will need to attempt any two.

As per the JEE Main 2017 Exam Pattern the time limit, language and making scheme is similar to that in paper 1.  

Instructions for Paper 1 ( B.E / B.Tech ) online Examinations :

A sample mock test will be available on JEE Main website in the month of December 2016 for practice purpose and to give the candidate look and feel of the Computer Based Examination ( CBE ).

The candidates must sign on the Attendance sheet at the appropriate place. 

Rough sheets will be provide for  the candidates to do all the calculations / writing work. Candidates are governed by all Rules and Regulations of the Board with regard to their conduct in the Examinations Hall. All cases of unfair means will be dealt with as per rules.

Exam Guidelines for paper 1 ( B.E / B.Tech ) and paper 2 ( B.Arch. / B.Planning ) Offline mode :

For aptitude test in Architecture, candidates are advised to bring their own geometry box set, pencils, erasers and colour pencils or crayons. 

Candidates are advised to bring their own black / blue ball pens of good quality. These will not be supplied by the board. They should also carry a cardboard or a clip board on which nothing is written, so that they have no difficulty in filling responses in the answer.

The candidate will be asked to break / open the seal of the paper five minutes before the commencement. The Answer sheet should be taken out carefully. The candidate should check carefully the test booklet code printed on side-2 of the answer sheet is the similar to the code printed on the Test Booklet. In case of discrepancy, the candidate should immediately report the matter to the Invigilator for replacement of both the Test Booklets and the answer sheet.

Candidate will write particulars with Blue / Black ball point pen on the both sides of the answer sheet. Use of pencil is strictly prohibited.

JEE Main 2017 Answer Key with All sets ( Official )

The official Answer Key of JEE Main 2017 was made available by CBSE from April onwards. Candidates, who appeared in Paper 2 of JEE Main 2017, can now challenge the answer key and recorded response. Those, who were not satisfied with the JEE Main 2017 official answer key of paper 1, were allowed to challenge it till April, 2017. A sum of Rs. 1000/- per question was required to be paid by the candidates for challenging the answer key.

JEE Main 2017 Answer Key for Paper 1 is available for B.Tech aspirants ( Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics ), where as Answer key of Paper 2 will contain correct answers for Mathematics and Aptitude Test for the B.Arch/ B.Plan aspirants. These answer keys are very useful in calculating the probable score secured in this national level undergraduate engineering entrance exam.

Candidates, who were not satisfied with the captured response, could challenge the JEE Main 2017 Answer key. Check details below.

Candidates can now challenge answer key and responses of paper 2. 

The challenge of Answer keys of JEE Main 2017 paper 1 were accepted online only. According to an official notification of CBSE, while challenging JEE Main 2017 Answer key, candidates had to fill online application form and pay Rs.1000/- per question. The challenge on Answer key were accepted till April, 2017. The fee could be paid by credit / debit card or e-challan. The fee once paid is non-refundable.

Decision of JAB ( Joint Admission Board ) / CBSE on the challenges will be final and no further 

JEE Main 2017 Rank (AIR) Announced Check Here -

The JEE Main Rank will be declared on June, 2017 candidates who appeared in JEE Main 2017. The JEE Main Rank score 60% ( weightage ) combined with normalized score of class 12th marks ( 40% weightage ). JEE Main 2017 Rank list is the basis for granting admission to B.E. / B.Tech. in engineering institutions including NITs, IIITS and GFTIs. Nearly 24,000 undergraduate engineering seats will be alloted to the candidates based on their JEE Main 2017 AIRs.

JEE Main 2017 rank list will be accepted by 31 National Institutions of Technology ( NITs ), 20 Indian Institutions of Information  Technology ( IITs  ) and 18 Government Funded Technical Institutes for admission to undergraduate Engineering programmes via Joint Seat Authority ( JOSAA ) 2017.

On the basis of score in JEE Main 2017 and normalized score of class 12th marks or equivalent qualifying exam ( 60% & 40%  weightage respectively ), separate rank lists will be prepared for admission to B,E/B,Tech and B. Arch/B.Planning ( in institutions other than IITs )

JEE Main 2017 Counselling : Schedule, Procedure, Seat Allotment

JE Main counselling : The JEE Main 2017 counselling is conducted for admission in NIT and other government and private colleges of the country. only the candidates who have qualified JEE Main 2017 are eligible to attend the counselling process. JEE Main counselling has started from June,2017. Joint seat allocation authority (JOSAA)  is responsible for JEE Main counselling.

Josaa counselling 2017 : The JEE Main counselling 2017  conducted by Joint seat authority ( JOSAA ). The counselling has been started from June, 2017. The JEE Main Qualified candidates have to appear in the JEE Main counselling that is conducted by JOSAA, candidates may check more details below. JOSAA counselling is given below.

JEE Main 2017 counselling at glance : The candidates who have qualified the JEE Main Exam 2017 are eligible for the counselling process.

Step 1:  online registration. 

go to the official website of JEE Main 2017. 

Enter the details such as name, date of birth, category, address and band details.

pay the counselling fees via challan, debit card /credit card.

Step 2: online choice  filling and locking. log in to your account make options of colleges and courses after login. make choice carefully, choices one locked will not be changed.

fill the maximum possible choices for allotment. lock the choices before the deadline. 

choice locking will be done after each round of counselling. 

candidate can make upgrade choices in successive rounds of choices filling and locking process.

Step 3: Seat allocation and document verification.

Allotment will be done on the basis of reservations,  choices filled and vacancies.

There will be multiple rounds of counselling and seat allotment.

pay the fees to confirm the allotment of seat. get all the documents checked by the officials.

Step 4: Candidate must report to the alloted institute with the documents and certificates.

JEE Main Admit Card 2017 - JEE Mains Admit Card / Hall Ticket Download

JEE Main Admit Card 2017 The JEE Main Admit Card will be available from March  2017 onwards. The admit Card can only be downloaded online by entering Application Number and password chosen by candidates at the time of filling Application Form. Prior to download the admit card, candidates are required to provide their roll number and board details of class 12th / equivalent qualifying Examinations. Previous years pass out candidates should also verify the same details.

JEE Main 2017 :  Joint Entrance Examination ( JEE Main ). It is a Engineering  entrance examination which is conducted every year for admission to Engineering and technology programmes at IIT, IIIT, NIT and various government founded institutions. JEE Main is a two stage Examination where the first stage is conducted for getting admission to various Engineering colleges including IIT's and NIT's, where as, the second stage of Examination is conducted for admission to IIT's only.

Candidates should have passed in high secondary exam with PCM ( physics, chemistry, mathematics ) from a recognized board or University and secured minimum 50%  marks in core subjects. 

Students will get minimum 3 chances to clear JEE Main Examinations. 

Tenth standard date of birth will be considered only. candidates belongs to general and OBC category should have born on or after 1st October 1992 ( for SC /ST/ PWD candidates, it is 1st October 1987 ).

Odisha and Maharashtra states, the rule of age and attempts will be completely based on their state level Examinations.

How to Apply for JEE Main 2017

Eligible candidates can apply online mode only. visit the official website and fill the application form and submit via online.

JEE Main  Application form :  

The application form of JEE Main 2017 was available , from  December 1, 2017. Earlier one month time was given to students for submitting the form but later the last date for application form submission had been extended. The last date to apply online for JEE Main 2017  and to upload the photograph was January 2017 and last date to pay the fee through credit / debit card was January 02, 2017  and through e-challan was January , 2017 ( up to working hours of the banks ).
